Eric Curry Style Light painting attempt one. I tried so hard to make this first attempt at and Eric Curry styled light painting work, but I feel just a bit disappointed with this 5 hour project. I asked my older brother to go out to a boat ramp area in Salem, Idaho and I had this great idea in my head. I told my brother that it would only take an hour then he could go home and go to bed… 2 hours later, we were both freezing and so ready to get warmed up.
I merged and masked more than 30 images together to get this final image. We had a really hard time getting enough light despite a medium to high ISO and 30 second shutter speeds. I think that it’s time to invest in a good old powerful spot light, because those little flash lights just weren’t cutting it for me.
If you want to see one of my peers light painting work, Laura Walker did a great job on her light paintings.
A Portion of the Originals:
Malorie! Your image is wonderful! I love this because of the story and detail that is in each one of those images. It seems like it’s just one image. My favorite part about this image is how bright and how many stars you have in the sky. It is beautifully balanced with enough light, but also enough dark to create a visually appealing image.
